The Eye Guy was founded on a simple idea. Northern Montana deserves modern, friendly, no-rush eye care. We're proud to serve our neighbors from two offices: inside Walmart Optical on Smelter Avenue NE in Great Falls (Monday through Friday) and our standalone clinic on South Main Street in Conrad (Saturdays), making expert vision care convenient and accessible across north-central Montana.

Meet the Doctor
Samuel Jacob Gouchenour Jr., O.D.
Dr. "Jake" Gouchenour, a local from Conrad, MT is excited to be back in northern Montana to serve the people of Great Falls! He is a 2025 graduate of the Kentucky College of Optometry. Jake blends a rigorous academic background with a passion for community-focused care. After earning his degree in Exercise Science from BYU in 2021 and obtaining Dean's List honors in medical school, Jake brings a modern, "whole-body" perspective to every eye exam. He is dedicated to ensuring his patients leave the office feeling both well-informed and genuinely cared for.
When he's off the clock, Jake's life is defined by music and family. An accomplished musician, he is often found singing, performing, or playing the piano at his church and enjoys the challenge of mastering new instruments. While he loves hitting the ski slopes, his three children are his world and you'll find him spending time with them on his days off.
